Under Sieged?

Do you feel trapped? Are you crying out for help, with no answers? Are you blaming God for the problem?

In 2 Kings 6:13-14, the king of Aram was angry with the prophet Elisha because Elisha was telling the king of Israel his plans against Israel. King Aram sent horses and chariots and a strong force to Dothan where Elisha was; the army went by night and surrounded the city.

When Elisha's servant saw the army the next morning he was afraid and said to Elisha “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see. Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."

The situation seemed impossible to the servant in the natural but with his spiritual eyes open he realised that there was no need to fear.

Prayer Point:

Your enemies may surround you in the night but I pray that God will open your spiritual eyes to show you the army of heaven which is with you.

Elisha prayed for the Lord, to strike this army with blindness; the Lord answered and Elisha led them into Samaria. "Elisha told them, “This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to Samaria." Elisha did not ask the king of Samaria to destroy the men but they fed them and sent them back to king Aram who stopped raiding Israel’s territory when he saw the power of the God of Elisha.

Prayer Point

May the Lord of Elisha blind every spiritual army that is surrounding you and dispatches His angels to lead them into spiritual Samaria in Jesus Name.

However, sometime after this King Ben-Hadad laid siege on Samaria causing famine and desperation; inflation of prices; there were cannibalism and poverty in Samaria. "there was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter of a cab of seed pods for five shekels."

The king of Samaria was so discouraged; he was angry at Elisha and did not want to wait on the Lord for relief. The king said, “This disaster is from the Lord. Why should I wait for the Lord any longer?” Elisha replied with the word of breakthrough, “Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Lord says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.”

Prayer Point

I decree and declare that there shall be a turn around in your financial situation and what you could not afford becomes affordable in Jesus Name.

Your feelings of hopelessness do not stop God from working in your situation. I encourage you to look to God in the most trying times because he knows the plan he has to bring you hope. My Friends our faithful God will come to you and fulfil his promises as he did with Israel.

Jeremiah 29:10-11 10 "This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfil my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
