Galatians 5: if we walk by the Spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. The desires of the flesh and the Spirit are contrary to each other and are in constant conflict. This conflict hinders our free will; spiritual deliverance helps us to resolve this conflict as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
We do not teach that spiritual attacks are responsible for every issue that we face but there are some very common benefits of spiritual deliverance:
The torment in the soul is gone. Persons are better able to "Submit themselves, to God and resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7.
It is easier to take thoughts captive after deliverance than it was before. The mind is clearer: Bible study/meditation is richer and there is a deeper ability to worship and praise.
There is an element of walking deliverance out and changing habits but one should see progressively more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Knowledge gained leads to empowerment to maintain deliverance. "....through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered." Proverbs 11:9
