Lord We Need You

God is faithful and righteous and it is with righteousness that He will judge His people. Righteousness is the gold standard in the kingdom of God; it is by righteousness in Christ that we are set free; it is righteousness that draws us closer to God; it is righteousness that prevents us from compromising with sin.

In our human nature maintaining righteousness may be challenging and frustration. On our own it is hopeless but we serve a God who is El Shaddi, the God who is all-sufficient; in God is every attribute that we need to maintain righteousness. As we seek God and His Word we grow more in His character through Jesus Christ His Son and our Saviour.

Isaiah 11:2 highlight the attributes of God's character. We need the "Spirit of the Lord" to rest on us. We need "His Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding:" James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach." Proverbs 2:6 "for the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding."

We must hunger for "the wisdom from above which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere." James 3:17 "We must strive to walk in "the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!" Psalm 111:10

Only the counsel of God for our lives is true and shall stand, but we must recognize, accept and respect the governance of God our creator for this counsel to be effetive in ourlives. This comes through knowledge and obedience to the Word of God. "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night."

“The Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord;" causes us to be “like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away." The opposite is true for those who do not fear the Lord or walk in His counsel. “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous." Psalm 73:24

May the Spirit of God according to Isaiah 11:2 rest upon you and your household in Jesus Name. Amen
