Have you ever wondered why it is that as a Christian our lives may not be evident of the Glory of God or the manifestation of His blessings? Yes the word of God says the afflictions of the righteous are much; but something is wrong if the afflictions seem never ending. Jesus came to set the captive free.... so why are we so bounded, whether it is mentally, emotionally or physically.
As we reflect on this in relation to Psalm 84:11 "The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly," we are encouraged to do a personal inventory and reflect on the unrighteous in our lives. What have we done wrong? Where could we have done better? Were our motives self-seeking? Do we owe anyone an apology? If we are totally honest with ourselves and God these questions would help to examine our hearts and consciences.
Honest reflection identifies areas of our lives that need attention and strongholds are revealed. As we confess these weaknesses to God, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
